Art at the summit in Courchevel

Art in the open air

Every winter, the resort of Courchevel is transformed into a real open-air museum. Contemporary artists line the resort with their unique and original works, which are integrated into the ski lifts and call out to skiers and passers-by on their way. The “Art au Sommet” exhibition is a contemporary art event where artists transform the white decor of Courchevel into a real place of culture and art.

It’s a daring challenge that was born thanks to the partnership of Courchevel and Galeries Bartoux with the aim of bringing art and culture to the French Alps.

Unique works of art

It is at the top of the mountains that skiers, as well as passers-by, have the chance to enjoy these contemporary works of art. You have to open your eyes, and on the side of a mountain, on the gondolas, or in the streets of Courchevel, you can come face to face with them.

Singular and original works amuse and fascinate skiers during their descents. At the sight of these works, skiers, passers-by, and art lovers will arm themselves with their cameras to immortalize the scene. Each year Courchevel welcomes many works of art from different artists such as Richard Orlinski, Dali, Julien Marinetti, David Cintract, and more.

Courchevel, a modern ski resort

Thanks to its different approaches to art, as well as numerous events, Courchevel is becoming more dynamic and offers skiers and tourists new and creative vacations.

We can’t wait to see what the artists have in store for us for the 2022-2023 winter season.
